Driver Notes

If you are experiencing display problems and think it's due to your driver, this is the place to be. We suggest checking out your 3D accelerator manufacturer's Web site to update your driver for the following cards:

Identifying Driver Versions

To identify driver versions

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Click the plus sign next to Display adapters.
  4. Double-click your display adapter's icon, click the Driver tab, and then click File version details.
  5. Find the File version number below the text box.

Identifying PCI and AGP Motherboards

To identify PCI or AGP motherboards

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Click the plus sign next to Display adapters.

Your display adapter should indicate whether it is for a PCI or AGP motherboard. If you have a Pentium I, you probably have a PCI motherboard. If you have a Pentium II, you probably have an AGP motherboard.
